Skincare by Age: Your 20s

You’re in your twenties. Up until now you’ve probably bought some inexpensive drugstore skincare products to try to take care of your complexion, but you aren’t really religious about your routine. Well, now is the perfect time to step up your skincare routine and invest in a few grown-up products! These are a few essentials that we feel are perfect to solidify your skincare routine in your 20s.

1. CleanseWhite Tea Purifying Cleanser by Arcona

This antioxidant rich cleanser is the perfect base for your skincare routine. It’s a gel cleanser that suds up when you’re washing your face, but it won’t leave your skin dry or irritated. It’s also great at removing makeup – even waterproof mascara!

2. HydrateFour O’Clock Flower by Arcona

Another skincare essential to invest in is your moisturizer! Choose one that will hydrate and strengthen your skin, like this one from Arcona. It also is super soothing and will calm any redness that you may be suffering from.

3. ProtectZinc Oxide Perfecting Sunscreen SPF 27 from Epicuren

Your 20s is the perfect time to get in the habit of wearing sunscreen every day. Yep, that’s right – every day. Protecting your skin from the sun will help prevent hyperpigmentation, uneven texture, and health problems later on in life. This one from Epicuren is super light, won’t clog your pores, and layers extremely well under makeup. Don’t forget to apply to the top of your hands and your chest, too!

We also know that it’s common to breakout around this age. It’s the worst, but have one rule with yourself: do NOT pick your skin! Doing so can spread bacteria and make your breakout even worse. It’s best to talk to an esthetician or a dermatologist if you are suffering from severe breakouts.

Those are our 3 recommendations to step-up your skincare routine in your 20s! Have you tried any of these products? Let us know in the comments below! Also, stay tuned the next few weeks to see what we recommend for skincare in your 30s, 40s, and 50s!
