Oncology Services

Massage therapy is increasingly being used to manage treatment related side effects, and improve quality of life during treatment, recovery, and in survivorship.

Studies have shown that spa treatment is a cost-effective strategy to improve resumption of occupational and non-occupational activities and the abilities of people in breast cancer remission.

Good intentions on the part of the attending therapist are simply not enough. Knowledge of oncology massage is essential for both therapists and people living with cancer as well as survivors. The benefits of massage for people who face the challenges of cancer are well supported by clinical research and the data shows that massage improves physical, physiological, and emotional well-being. All this and it feels great too!

If you are in, or have a history of, cancer treatment please ensure you always request an oncology trained massage therapist or an esthetician.

Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage, unlike other massage modalities, is not a series of techniques or applied protocols. Rather, it is the therapist’s ability to recognize and work within clinically established guidelines and make the bodywork adjustments required to accommodate any positioning, pressure, or site considerations that may apply. For each guest these positioning, pressure or site considerations are different, and your oncology-trained therapist will tailor-make and customize your bodywork service to address your individual requirements. If you are in, or have a history of, cancer treatment please ensure you always request an oncology-trained massage therapist or aesthetician.

Oncology Facials

Trained Estheticians provide comfort and relief during facial treatments for clients undergoing treatment for, or recovering from, cancer. Through the specialized training, estheticians gain a deep understanding of the affects of cancer on the body and how best to accommodate those clients in the spa setting.
