1. INTERNAL ACNE AGGRAVATORS
Hormones, stress and food all play into how often and severe your skin breaks out. Multiple hormones are associated with acne; an increase in testosterone or androgens impact the skin the most. When your body experiences a surge in hormones from menstruation, pregnancy, menopause or stress the levels rise causing the production of skin cells and oil to be amplified.
My solution would be to seek a health care professional who can balance your hormones or seek out supplements from a good health food market. An increase in stress releases cortisol, which can also cause the sebaceous glands to go into overdrive.
In the new year, practice more meditation, maintain a more peaceful and relaxing lifestyle, take calcium and magnesium supplements also help calm nerves, and make sure you are getting 7-8 hours of good sleep. Less sleep produces more cortisol. No good…. as this is what collects around our tummies and creates the muffin top.
