Tip Tuesday: DIY Hair Rinse!

Holistic health and wellness coach Jules Aron’s latest book, Fresh & Pure: Organically Crafted Beauty Balms & Cleansers, is filled with recipes for wholesome recipes for DIY hair, skin, and body treatments. It’s a well of inspiration for those of us who are up for at-home beauty treatments! One of our favorite recipes is this all-natural herbal hair rinse. Sometimes you might feel like your hair is looking dull or that maybe you have a lot of buildup from daily styling products. This rinse is the perfect solution – it will eliminate buildup and restore shine. It includes ingredients that are full of antioxidants and that will strengthen your hair.

Here’s the ingredients for 1 rinse:

2 cups distilled water

1 teaspoon green tea leaves, or 2 tea bags

1 tablespoon dried nettles*

1 tablespoon dried rosemary

2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar

*Nettles is an herb/leaf that can be found at your local health food or grocery store or online at places like Amazon.

About an hour before you plan to wash your hair, boil the distilled water in a large pot. Add the green tea, nettles, and rosemary, then remove from heat. Cover with a lid and allow the mixture to cool completely (about 1 hour). Strain the mixture and discard the tea leaves and dried herbs. Add your apple cider vinegar.

To use: Shampoo your hair normally and then follow with your homemade rinse! Allow it to fully absorb without rinsing it out. Wrap your hair in a towel and dry as you usually do.

Now your hair will be clean, fresh, and even stronger than before! Let us know in the comments below if you try this rinse – we’d love to hear how it worked for you!
