That’s a Wrap!

That’s a Wrap!

That’s a Wrap!

The perfect wrap starts when you call to make the appointment. An educated spa coordinator will help you choose the right wrap for you, taking into consideration the season or any upcoming occasion.

The process starts with a light exfoliation from head to toe to take off any dead skin.

An application of active aromessance oils are rubbed onto your body to either help with relaxation or get rid of toxins.

Your technician applies the main product—it may be a sauna mask or detox pack, mud or even parafango (a combination of mud and paraffin wax). Often, a wrap includes a neck, scalp and back massage as well.

Now the nurturing part. How does being wrapped up in two sheets and cocooned by a warm, heated blanket sound? Don’t worry if you’re claustrophobic—therapists are trained to accommodate you and make you feel comfortable and at ease.

The average time to be wrapped up is approximately 20-25 minutes. During this time, all your senses are being stimulated, accompanied by a scalp and neck massage. Don’t forget to listen to the music playing softly in the background. It will help you reach a blissful state of relaxation.

After your 20 minutes are up, it’s time for that Vichy shower to be turned on. This is the ultimate sensation, lying down and taking a shower. You’ll feel the warm water beating on your body from the rain bar above as it washes away all the products. Your therapist will control the temperature and intensity of the water pressure based on your preferences.

Once you know what to expect, it’s time to roll over and feel it on the other side of your body, too. But this time, it’s different because now your mind is in Costa Rica and you’re floating in the beautiful, lush waterfalls!

As the water is turned off, your therapist will dab your skin dry with a soft, fluffy towel. It’s now time to hydrate the skin. Applying a moisturizer to the entire body is usually the last step of the wrap.

As you get off the table, you slip on a warm spa robe and slippers and sip cucumber and orange water to help flush the toxins.

And that’s a wrap.
