Hometown: Solana Beach, CA
5 Fun Things about me:
- I was a Horse Vaulter (gymnastics/stunts on a horse)
- I played competitive Soccer and Softball for 13 years as well as Lacrosse
- I am Italian so I had no choice but to become an excellent cook
- My friends call me “Martha Stewart” because I can get a little crazy with the Crafts and Party Planning
- I write Poetry. One day I hope to have some of my work published
3 Things I Love:
- My 25 lb. Pomeranian dog, Kobe
- Cupcakes, bundt cakes, cakes in general, and every dessert/sweet that was ever made
- My gym… for obvious reasons
My certifications and specialties:
I had the incredible opportunity to do my apprenticeship at the famous Jose’ Eber, where I studied under the renowned Creative Director Jean Marc. At Jose’s I was taught the art of cutting and styling. I then went on to attend the elite Matrix academy in New York, where I furthered my education in cut and color. After New York, I went to Los Angeles and attended Vidal Sassoon, where I really honed my craft. After Sassoon, I got certified to be a Great Lengths hair extensions expert.
I specialize in color, women’s haircuts, extensions, and styling/up-do’s.
Why I became a stylist?
I wish I could have the alluring “I knew I wanted to do hair when I got my first barbie” explanation, but for me it would take 16 more years to figure it out. I am 100% right brained so I have always excelled creatively, whether it be through my art or poetry. It wasn’t until I moved back from college that I understood the importance of using my creativity to my advantage. Then my Dad strategically told me “If you love what you do, then you’ll never work a day in your life,” but he also lovingly said ” Go back to school, get a job, or get out”. I knew my endless summer was over so I applied to beauty school and I absolutely FELL IN LOVE. Now I do what I love and I make people feel amazing in the process…It doesn’t get any better than that.
A hair tip to share:
If you have thin or limp hair, turn it from flat to fabulous by using a few hair extension pieces. You don’t need full hair extensions, but by adding just a couple pieces, you can amp up the thickness of your hair and create a fun, extraordinary ponytail.
