Caring for the Caregivers Contest 2010

Spa Gregorie’s & Cox Communications Honors Extraordinary Caregivers with Pampering Rewards…

“It is not how much we do, but how much love we put into the doing. And it is not how much we give but how much love we put into the giving.” ~ Mother Theresa

2010 Caring for the Caregivers Contest

Do you know a selfless caregiver who needs some much overdue pampering?

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, there are more than 50 million people who take on the responsibility of caring for a chronically ill, disabled or elderly family member or friend. And while being able to assist a loved one in their time of need can be incredibly fulfilling, it can also be very demanding and tiring work. Every year, November is designated as National Family Caregivers Month. It is meant to be a time for us to thank, celebrate and support our caregivers. In recognition of these many selfless individuals, Spa Gregorie’s is teaming up with Cox Communications to host a Caring for Caregivers Contest where a lucky winner will receive a one-hour massage and Spa Gregorie’s Ultimate Signature Facial.

Family and friends are invited to nominate outstanding caregivers online.  If you would like to participate in the Caring for Caregivers Contest and honor a devoted caregiver who could use a soothing spa treatment, click the link below and send Spa Gregorie’s a one-page description of who you are nominating and why. Show a caregiver your love and support and nominate them today.

Spa Gregorie’s offers a collection of relaxing, rejuvenating, and healing therapies. Visit http://spagregories.net/salon-and-spa-services/ to learn more about all of the soothing services Spa Gregorie’s offers.

2010 Winner

Nominated By: Cathleen LeVeque
Caregivers Name: Sandy LeVeque

Nomination:

Sandy LeVeque is an exceptional, amazing woman! Everyone, I am sure says that about a caregiver, but there is more…Sandy was married to my ex-husband, Jim. Jim passed away from a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma (cancer) that he courageously fought for two years. Sandy never left his side. She nurtured him, gave him hope, dressed him, bathed him, and stayed by his side. When he said he wanted to keep fighting the disease, even when there was no hope, she stood by him. Jim died Tuesday morning at 3:30 in the morning on October 26, 2010 at the age of 54. With Sandy by his side he slipped away from her. He slipped away from her love and devotion as an amazing wife and friend. Jim’s passing left Sandy financially devastated and to top it off Sandy was diagnosed with breast cancer while planning the funeral. I was trying to think of a way she could be honored. I know she needs so much right now and is hurting in ways that we cannot imagine. I was reminded of Spa Gregorie’s, and looked here to find a gift for her. When I saw this contest and what it was about, I thought I would like to at least tell you about this amazing lady!
